Welcome! I am an incoming Steven M. Teutsch Prevention Effectiveness Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where I will be based in the National Center for Environmental Health beginning in September 2026. My research has been recognized with the 2026 ASHEcon Program Chair Award in Mental and Behavioral Health and the 2026 Horowitz Foundation for Social Policy Award.
I recently earned my Ph.D. in Economics from the Department of Economics at Georgia State University. During my doctoral studies, I was advised by Professors James Marton, Lauren Hoehn-Velasco, Keith Teltser, and Ann DiGirolamo.
I am an applied microeconomist with research interests in health, public, labor, and development economics. My research examines how healthcare infrastructure and insurance policy affect population health. Current work focuses on access to mental health treatment facilities, emergency medical services and insurance expansion, and maternal and child health programs in developing countries.
Using econometric methods for causal inference and large-scale administrative data, I study the intended and unintended consequences of health policies, with the goal of informing evidence-based decisions that improve healthcare access and outcomes for vulnerable populations.
During my doctoral studies, I was a research assistant at the Center on Health and Homelessness in Georgia State University’s School of Public Health, where I worked with Professor Shannon Self-Brown on the Program and Process Evaluation Evidence Gap Map Project. Previously, I was a research assistant at the Centre for Econometric and Allied Research (CEAR) at the University of Ibadan, where I developed expertise in development economics and healthcare systems in Sub-Saharan Africa. I received my B.Sc. in Economics with First Class Honors from the University of Ibadan’s Department of Economics.
